My First day experience at #TheCon10nt: ABC of Blogging

Earlier this morning, I holla at my Oga at the top, Mr. Cavil Uduak Inwang and he requested I attend a workshop he's delivering a lecture at, that i was going to learn alot. When I got there, i discovered it was the #TheCon10nt workshop organised by Wetinhappen to mentor 10 aspiring bloggers in the State. I settled into the class and followed up having missed the introductory session due to lateness. Mr. Cavil took the participants through the theoretical of blogging, identifying your passion, finding a niche, coming up with a unique blog identity name, and finally creating a blog.  It was followed up by a brief but inspiring ugly truth session by The Leader, Nature Udoh & gang, Mr. Nature Udoh. He spoke on failure a sine qua non for success. The digital age is quite simply the best time for music and muscians. Ever. We can't get enough of new music, there's never been more of it available and artistes are retaking control of themselves. In the last edition of #youseffitblow series, we talked about a DIY approach to a sustainable career in music. The independent route is a tough, long grind, no doubt about it. But, it is very possible. Chance tha rapper, Gucci Mane, Rich Homie Quan, Kodak blak, Macklemore, Fetty Wap, Young thug, are all testimonies. You just have to be self-starting, entreprenuerial and creative (as hell) to stand out. You just need the gritty fortitude to keep going no matter how hard it gets. Even if you aimed to be scouted by big name record labels, you just need take the DIY route first. Before J Cole got signed to ROC Nation, Man has invested alot on himself.
